MARTIM MARIA BRAGA DA CUNHA FERREIRA

    ARCHITECT | LISBON | 1976

Managing Partner of Cunha Ferreira Arquitectos Lda

    ABOUT

He acquired most of his professional skills at MC Arquitectos, where he was involved, among other projects, in the design of the exterior accesses to the Airport Metro Station in Lisbon, as well as in the public tenders for the Todos os Santos Hospital and the Algarve Central Hospital.

At the same time, he undertook independent architectural work on residential renovation projects in Lisbon. This experience allowed him to develop skills not only in architectural services but also in coordination, supervision, site management, and construction management.

In addition to his project experience, he also has experience in designing custom furniture, tailored in style and form to each new challenge.

The architect’s versatility is part of his nature and stems from a journey that began with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Lusíada University in Lisbon in 2001, followed by the Diocesan Seminary (2001–2002), and studies in Philosophy and Humanities (Catholic University of Braga, 2005–2006) and Sculpture (ARCO, 2006–2007). An enriching journey that brought him back to his initial passion, architecture, endowing him with a spiritual and emotionally unique perspective.

He views architecture as a service to others, one that demands intellectual, emotional, physical, and financial effort. It is an endeavor that aims to be beautiful, comforting, tangible, and sustainable.

He was part of the winning team at the “II BootCamp Power powered by INSEAD” in the field of social entrepreneurship, with the BRINCA.nee project. He is a founding partner of the “A-F-A-B-R-I-C-A Cultural and Environmental Center” project, which aims to revitalize the inland region of the municipality of Odemira socially and economically by attracting the national and international creative community.

Since 2012, he has been working in partnership with various architectural firms, including CAS Arquitectos, Paralelo Zero, and Afonso de Almeida Fernandes.
