Keeping a conversation engaging may not be obvious if we want to reach a good conclusion. We need to consider what has already been said, the topic, the tone of the conversation, and the language we want to use. Thinking of the “home” of architects means speaking the same language, but not necessarily in the same tone.

A building/structure that emerges organically in the space between the compact volume of the headquarters and the linear form of the façade to be preserved on Rua da Ribeira Nova, giving each element its place and freeing up space on the ground floor.

The vertical scale of the proposed building, with its volume fragmented floor by floor, interacts with the horizontal mass of the headquarters and provides visual continuity to the gable, while also revealing narrow spaces reminiscent of the spontaneous fabric of medieval Lisbon, where one passes through alleys and side streets.
